Every Wednesday afternoon at 12:50 p.m., elementary students and staff worship together.  On the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, we gather in the Huizenga Auditorium for Worship.  The younger children are assigned a "chapel buddy" from the upper grades to help the children learn the order of worship and songs and foster a real sense of family among the students. 

A typical Worship time begins with the Greeting "The Lord be with you" to which the children respond "And also with you."  Next they sing the Worship Theme songs.   Then follows a time of singing which the children really enjoy.  After singing, a speaker such as a teacher, local pastor or special guest talks to the children.  We end Worship Time with prayer, a blessing and closing song "Go Now in Peace."   Sometimes the Worship is a joyful celebration and other times, by design, a time of reverent meditation for the children to ponder all that Christ has done for us.  A large wooden cross on the stage in front serves as a reminder of whom we are worshiping. 

Several times a year Worship is arranged into separate K-3rd and 4th-6th worship times to focus on age appropriate material.   Throughout the year, each classroom has the opportunity to plan and participate in the Worship Time. In this way, they make their worship time special and their own.

Wing Sings take place on  the remaining Wednesday afternoons and are a favorite time among students and staff alike.  Simply put, a "wing sing" is the meeting together of several classes from a particular wing of the school gather to sing praises to our God.  Take a walk throughout the hallways during this time....hearing our covenant children simultaneously lift their praise to our God is a beautiful thing.  The music ranges from a simple "Jesus Loves Me" in the younger wings to the more challenging "Be Bold, Be Strong ", complete with guitar from our older students.
