Mrs. Fran David

Personal Profile
After moving from New Jersey to the Chicago area to attend college many years ago I never moved back. My husband and I are members of Western Spring Christian Reformed Church where I am on the education committee. Our three sons attended Timothy, and we are blessed to have our granddaugher and grandson attending Timothy in kindergarten and 1st grade. I am an avid walker and enjoy reading. I am also happy to travel anywhere from as nearby as Chicago to as far away as Europe.
Professional Profile
Having enjoyed growing up in the New York metropolitan area I knew that I wanted to attend a Christian college near a major city. I attended Trinity Christian College where I never visited the campus until I arrived in the fall of my freshman year. This is certainly different than students today who may visit a college campus two or even three times before deciding to attend. I taught fifth grade at Timothy Christian for five years before taking some time off but later returned to Timothy, to teach sixth grade for 12 years. After receiving a master’s degree in School Counseling from Concordia University I became the high school counselor. I feel fortunate to have loved interacting with younger and older students while having different types of responsibilities at Timothy; teaching in the grade school and now as a counselor in the high school.
Philosophical Profile
Christian education has always been an integral part of my own life as a student from grade school through college and now as my career. The commitment of teachers, administrators and staff is evident in everything we do at Timothy. It is in every facet of the educational setting in which we strive to bring students to an awareness that the entire world belongs to God while also helping them to realize their role in the world. The words from Titus are important to me: “In your teaching show integrity, seriousness, and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned.” As a counselor I encourage students to be young adults of integrity by having positive healthy relationships with their peers as well as adults. This can be done through their involvement in activities and conducting themselves in a way which will promote their personal and spiritual growth.
