Timothy High School Visual Arts
All high school art and photography classes are offered as one semester electives. Freshmen may take Art 1 which is a basic drawing class. Upperclassmen may choose from a variety of electives including Drawing, Painting, Ceramics, Computer Art, and Photography.
Basic skills are taught that pertain to each subject area along with the elements and principles of design. Assignments are given that challenge students to think creatively and be original. Students are encouraged to express their Christianity through their work and to use their artistic talents for service to others and as an act of worship.
In addition, students have a chance to participate in the Fine Arts Festival, typically held in March of each year. The students attend a workshop in which artwork is evaluated by a professional in each particular medium. The work is judged and exceptional work is recognized with awards.
